When considering this project in its entirety I find the analogy of an ocean voyage the best way to describe it. The journey started with blue skies and limitless ideas. The middle was rocky and at one point I lost sight of my guiding star. The end was well worth it and made even more impactful by the challenges along the way.
Hours Log
So many emails!
During this period I rediscovered the woes of video editing on an underpowered laptop. Although it was a difficult task, I am happy with the results of the tutorials I created. The videos were approved with NO EDITS! Hooray! So that made me feel good too! The fundraising campaign is now underway and the next thing I will be working on is creating some Instagram Reels for HWPI. Good things to come!
This is a screenshot of an email sent to my contact at the Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative.
Everything looking good!
I am super proud that my videos were accepted with no edits!
My tutorials are live on their website!

I made a mistake during this period. I was meant to confirm my availability for a meeting on the 11th and forgot to note it down. Resultantly, I did not confirm it, and we did not meet, and communication briefly lapsed. I was under the assumption that I was waiting to hear back from my agency rep regarding the availability of the HWPI’s communications manager. Because of that and my previous conversations with my agency rep regarding their extremely busy and hectic schedule, I just assumed that it was taking her a while to get back to me. Considering that and my own incredibly busy schedule, preparing to present my research at the Undergraduate Symposium on top of working two jobs and completing my schoolwork on time, I didn’t end up reaching out until March 20th. Looking back at this, I am disappointed I did not reach out sooner. Fortunately, today my agency rep replied to my email and we are currently working to schedule a meeting this week.
A much slower period than I expected or would have liked.
Yippee
This final reflection gives me the opportunity to thank both my professor Jeanette Kindred and my Agency Rep for this experience. Overall I enjoyed the work I did for the HWPI and the opportunities that came with it. This final section of my project had me in the field recording video with actual community members who use the trail. The opportunity to meet and interact with members of the community that I am supporting through my work was incredible. It was awesome to hear their stories about the B2B and how impactful it has been in their lives. It really put into perspective the importance of the work that I have been a part of.
Some photos I shot in addition to the video interviews I recorded for the Instagram Reel.
Putting up some big numbers!
Keeping good email contact about the Instagram Reel and scheduling meetings.
I make tons of tiny edits after rendering and realizing my mistakes.
